Jerry Mangune - Principal
My career and interest in accounting began when I worked part-time as a Junior Accountant for Carlos & Carlos Restaurant Group. When I received my degree in accounting at Northeastern Illinois University, I pursued and obtained a Staff Accountant position at Holiday Inn in Roselle, Illinois. I later obtained a higher position as an Assistant Controller for the Claridge Hotel in Chicago’s Gold Coast area where I worked from 1991-1993. My career eventually led me to become the Controller for the Allerton Hotel on Chicago’s Mag Mile where I worked from 1993-1997. The Allerton Hotel was ultimately sold to the Bristol Hotel Corporation in which I stayed through-out the due diligence and closing process. Shortly after, I obtained a Controller position at the Marriott Hotel – O’Hare and worked there from 1997-1999 until I landed the position of Corporate Controller at Phil Stefani Restaurant Companies where for over 15 years my responsibilities grew along with the organization.
My experience of over 10 years working at a multi-unit restaurant group and the four different hotels gave me the opportunity to utilize the skills, knowledge, and ability I gained in improving the accounting, administrative and technological infrastructure at Phil Stefani Restaurant Companies.
With a total of over 25 years of experience with 15 years of it as an Executive at Phil Stefani Signature Restaurant Companies I developed various innovative ways in accounting, administration and technology. It has helped the company operate more efficiently and has reduced expenses, while developing various policies and procedures that created more control and peace of mind for the owners and investors.
